What are Chemical Skin Peels?

Chemical Skin Peels dissolve the connection holding dead cells together on the surface of the skin and reveal the smoother, healthier skin beneath. We offer light, gentle peels, like Glycolic and Salicylic, and medium peels, like Jessner's and Obagi, which penetrate the skin more deeply. The use of these peels depends on the condition of your skin, which will be determined at the consultation.

 

How do Chemical Skin Peels work?

Skin peels dissolve dead skin cells on the surface, to reveal fresher and healthier skin underneath. While there are number of different types of peel available, we'll discuss which option is best for you at consultation. Generally, the peels we offer can be split into two categories, light and medium.

Light or superficial peels are relatively gentle and are usually made of natural ingredients such as sugar or fruits. They work by gently exfoliating your skin, smoothing the surface. They also stimulate collagen growth, which reduces wrinkles and gives you fresher, more youthful skin. There are two types of light peel available: glycolic and salicylic.

Imperfections that can be successfully treated by Chemical Skin Peels include acne-prone skin, acne scars, freckling, pigmentation problems, lines and wrinkles, age spots and dull complexions.

 

How many treatments do I need?

A course of 6 is normally recommended for optimal results.

 

Will it hurt?

No, although some people may notice a stinging sensation.

 

When will I see the results?

Your skin should be noticeably revitalised after one treatment.
