Who will Male Breast Reduction surgery benefit?

How is Male Breast Reduction surgery done?
Laser lipolysis is the clinical term for ‘melting’ fatty tissue under local anaesthetic using a laser. At our clinic we employ the gold standard in laser lipolysis, called Smartlipo. A key hole incision is made to allow a 3mm cannual to be inserted into the target area. The fibre optic cable is then inserted into the cannual, allowing laser energy to liquidize the solid fatty tissue. Our surgeon may recommend that this liquid fatty tissue be aspirated (gently sucked out) at the time of the treatment thereby giving an instant result. Alternatively, for modest amounts of fat we can let nature take its course whereby the blood stream takes the liquid fat through the blood stream, broken down further by the liver and eventually passed through in your urine. This ‘natural ‘ process is provided gradually over the next 12-16 weeks.
Both the approaches described above is preferable to the traditional form of liposuction applied to the breast as it allows the skin to shrink naturally overtime, thereby avoiding the need to remove skin as well as fat.
How long does Male breast reduction using Smartlipo take?
The Smartlio procedure takes around 45 minute whilst the aspiration may take a further 15 minutes. Patients are free to drive home straight away wearing their support garment. This is the major advantage about Smartlipo, not to mention the other benefits of no pain, no general anaesthetic, no bruising and turn to work next day if necessary.
